How AI content detection works

AI-generated text has measurable statistical patterns that differ from human writing. This tool analyzes six key signals to estimate whether content was written by an AI language model.

Sentence uniformity: AI models tend to generate sentences of remarkably similar length. Human writers naturally vary between short, punchy sentences and longer, complex ones. High uniformity is a strong AI signal.

Burstiness: Human writing is "bursty" — we follow a short sentence with a long one, then a medium one. AI output tends to be smoother and more predictable in its rhythm.

AI filler phrases: Phrases like "it's important to note," "in today's digital landscape," and "delve into" appear disproportionately in AI-generated text. While any one phrase isn't proof, multiple occurrences raise the probability.

Important caveat: No detector is 100% accurate. Heavily edited AI content may read as human, and some human writing styles (academic, formal) may score as AI-like. Use this as a guide, not a verdict.
