Keyword Density Checker

Paste your content and see how often keywords appear. Check if your target keyword is used at the right frequency for SEO.

What is keyword density and why does it matter?

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword appears in your content relative to the total word count. For example, if your article is 1,000 words and your target keyword appears 15 times, the density is 1.5%.

Best practice: Aim for 0.5%–2.5% density for your primary keyword. Below 0.5% and Google may not associate your page with that topic strongly enough. Above 3% risks keyword stuffing penalties.

Placement matters too: Your target keyword should appear in the first 100 words, in at least one heading (H2/H3), and naturally throughout the body. This tool checks whether your keyword appears early in the content.

Use this alongside our Readability Checker to make sure your content is both keyword-optimized and easy to read.
